Our Jersey milk is transformed into award winning cheeses with the knowledge of three generations of dairy farmers and cheesemakers. Flavacodo! We offer organically grown ‘Ettinger Avocado’s which are mature and taste great. Ettinger’s are a ‘green skin’ avocado with a thin skin. As they ripen they stay green on the skin and soften. (They don’t change colour like the Hass.) The best place for them is in the fruit bowl until they go soft, then in the fridge before eating. (If soft when you buy, then straight in the fridge). Peel with a sharp knife or vegetable peeler. Once the Ettinger season is over, we will offer the ‘Hass’ variety. We have achieved ‘Fresh Care Environmental Certification’ on the farm and were the 1st Avocado farm and vineyard in Australia to do so. This was achieved by our farm practices which include fish based fertilizers and applying the necessary minerals and trace elements that the trees and vines require. We apply the fish fertilizer via the irrigation system and the minerals and trace elements directly onto the tree. We do NOT spay chemicals onto the trees. We spray the nutrients that the trees require to produce beautiful tasting, chemical free, organically grown avocados (and wines, availabile soon - Pinot Noir, Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc wines).

Freshfields Mushrooms

White and Swiss Brown Mushrooms. Mushrooms are a wonderful source of B vitamins. In fact, they provide more riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid and biotin than any vegetable per serve. The are also number one for the antioxidants selenium and ergothioneine. Mushrooms are a rich source of folate and potassium and provide more than a quarter of our daily needs of the essential B vitamins riboflavin and niacin.

Gooseberry Hill Farm

Gooseberry Hill Farm produce certified organic vegetable seedlings and potted herbs. They also grow fruiting plants such as elderberry, rhubarb, currants and strawberries – these are grown organically but not certified. In addition, Gooseberry Hill Farm produce seasonal flowers such as Daffodils, Jonquils, Dutch iris, spuria iris, freesias, Arabs eyes, chinchincherines, statice, Irish bells, zantedeschia, Sunflowers, nerines, pineapple lilies, Watsonia, stocks, larkspur, gomphrena, proteas, Banksia and artichoke. Bulbs of seasonal flowers are also available. Gooseberry Hill Farm are agents for Eden seeds, which are heritage seeds without chemical treatment. These include vegetable, herb and flowers seeds, so that people can grow their own vegetables.

Strawberries ... We offer a premium grade punnet which is basically the best from the farm. Also, at a reduced price, we have a ‘second grade’ which is simply fruit that is a little overripe, may have a mark or blemish on the skin so we can’t pack it as a premium product. Small fruit is a favourite with some customers so we also sell punnets of medium sized fruit. The main strawberry variety we grow is called “Albion”, which was developed at the University of California. Our farm hosts trial plants from the Australian National Breeding programme. Our industry is trying to find a variety that is specifically suited to Australian growing conditions, but most importantly a sweet tasting, nice looking berry.
